SM410 is an 8-channel voltage-type analog input module in the SM series hardware products. It connects to the backplane of the cage via a 64-pin European connector and is used in conjunction with the corresponding terminal module to introduce 8 channels of field analog signals. Through software configuration, there are two ranges available: 0~5V signal input and 0~10V signal input.
SM410 HollySys Module, SM410 adopts a modular design with an overall structure of a cassette plug-in, installed on cage rails and fixed with locking pins. The anti-mixing pins on the module's backplate are fixed. Common methods for handling interference from frequency converters include: Adding an isolation transformer, mainly aimed at conducted interference from the power supply, which can block most conducted interference before the isolation transformer. Using filters, which have strong anti-interference capabilities and also prevent the device's own interference from being conducted to the power supply; some also have spike voltage absorption functions. Using output reactors, adding an AC reactor between the frequency converter and the motor mainly reduces electromagnetic radiation generated by the lines during energy transmission from the frequency converter, affecting other equipment.
(1) Selection of input/output points
Blindly choosing a model with too many points can cause some waste.
First, determine the total number of I/O points required for the control system, then reserve 15–20% of the actual total points as a backup (to allow for system modifications, etc.) before determining the required number of PLC points.
Additionally, note that some high-density input point modules have restrictions on the number of simultaneously connected input points; generally, the number of simultaneously connected input points should not exceed 60% of the total input points. The driving capability (A/point) of each PLC output point is also limited; some PLCs have output current per point that varies with the applied load voltage. Generally, the allowable output current of a PLC decreases as the ambient temperature increases. These issues should be considered during selection.
PLC output points can be categorized into common-point, grouped, and isolated connection methods. Isolated output points can use different voltage types and levels between groups, but this type of PLC has a higher average cost per point. If output signals do not require isolation, then a PLC with one of the first two output methods should be selected.
