1. Fault phenomenon: Spindle motor M1 cannot start.
Cause analysis:
① No voltage in the control circuit.
② Fuse FU5 in the control circuit is blown.
③ Contactor KM1 is not closed. If pressing the start button SB2 does not activate contactor KM1, the fault must be in the control circuit. For example, poor contact of the contacts of buttons SB1 and SB2, or a broken coil in the contactor, will prevent KM1 from being energized and activated.
If the contactor pulls in after pressing SB2, but the spindle motor still cannot start, the fault must be in the main circuit. Check in sequence whether the main contacts of contactor KM1 and the wiring terminals of the three-phase motor are in good contact.
2. FM161D HollySys Power Module, Fault phenomenon: Spindle motor cannot stop.
Cause analysis:
This type of fault is mostly caused by oil stains on the iron core surface of contactor KM1 preventing the iron core from releasing, or welding of the main contacts of KM1, or a short circuit in the normally closed contact of the stop button SB1. Cut off the power, clean the dirt on the iron core surface or replace the contacts to eliminate the fault.
3. Fault phenomenon: Spindle motor cannot self-lock during operation.
When the button SB2 is pressed, the motor can run, but when the button is released, the motor stops immediately. This is caused by poor contact, misalignment, or jamming of the auxiliary normally open contact of contactor KM1. Simply repair or replace the auxiliary normally open contact of contactor KM1 to eliminate the fault. Loose or broken connecting wires of the auxiliary normally open contact can also prevent the motor from self-locking.
4. Fault phenomenon: Tool post rapid traverse motor cannot operate.
