Communication between the component and the main control station is achieved through an optional redundant 10Mbps Ethernet-based fieldbus. The fieldbus communication component FCM is used to convert between the 2Mbps communication protocol used by FBM and the 10Mbps communication protocol used by the Ethernet fieldbus. Accepted communication messages come from any path (A or B) on the redundant Ethernet fieldbus. If one path fails or is switched by the system, the component can continue communication through the active path. This component is mounted on a DIN rail-mounted baseplate, which can accommodate up to eight fieldbus components. The baseplate can be installed on a DIN rail or rack-mounted, and is equipped with redundant fieldbus connection sockets, DC sockets, and I/O cable sockets. Each input channel is current-isolated from other channels and ground. The component can withstand 600V AC for one minute between any channel and ground, or between any given channel and any other channel.
