The reason for the lack of braking lies in whether the contactor KM4 operates. If KM4 operates, the fault point is in the main circuit; if KM4 does not operate, the fault point is in the control circuit. When the travel switch SQ1 is pressed, if the motor fails to stop, it indicates that KT (02-03) in the control circuit cannot open, preventing the contactor KM1 coil from de-energizing and releasing. This results in the motor not stopping, and the fault point is in the control circuit. In this case, check whether the relay KT coil is energized.
Determining Based on the Action of Electrical Devices When the travel switch SQ1 is pressed for energy consumption braking, repeatedly observe whether the armatures of the electrical devices KT and KM4 have any closing action. If the armatures of KT and KM4 close sequentially, the fault point is definitely in the energy consumption braking branch of the main circuit; if either KT or KM4’s armature does not close, the fault point must be in the energy consumption braking branch of the control circuit.
