Ethane Description
Packaging: Packaged in 40L, 44L steel cylinders, and can also be repackaged into 2-10L gas cylinders according to customer requirements.
Applications: Etching gas, carrier gas, heat treatment in metallurgical industry, preparation of ethylene, vinyl chloride, chloroethane, acetaldehyde, ethanol, ethylene glycol oxide, etc., fuel, refrigerant.
Physical and Chemical Properties: Colorless, odorless, flammable gas. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, soluble in benzene. Ethane and carbon tetrachloride are mutually soluble.
Precautions:
Operate in a closed system with overall ventilation. Operators must receive specialized training and strictly adhere to operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear anti-static work clothing. Keep away from fire and heat sources; smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation systems and equipment. Prevent gas leakage into the workplace air. Avoid contact with oxidizing agents. During transportation, cylinders and containers must be grounded and bonded to prevent static electricity buildup. Handle with care during搬運(yùn) to prevent damage to cylinders and attachments. Equip with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency handling devices.
Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Warehouse temperature should not exceed 30°C. Store separately from oxidizing agents; avoid mixed storage. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that may generate sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency handling equipment.
Ethane is the second member of the alkane series and the simplest hydrocarbon containing a carbon-carbon single bond. Molecular formula CH3CH3. Ethane content in some natural gases is 5% to 10%, second only to methane; it also exists in a dissolved state in petroleum.
