K-type thermocouple
Other Products
The K-type thermocouple is a widely used base metal thermocouple for industrial temperature measurement, made of nickel-chromium alloy (positive electrode) and nickel-silicon alloy (negative electrode), with a temperature measurement range from -200°C to 1300°C. ?
Structure and Materials
The K-type thermocouple consists of a positive electrode (KP, nickel-chromium alloy, composition Ni:Cr=90:10), a negative electrode (KN, nickel-silicon alloy, composition Ni:Si=97:3), and a protective tube, usually equipped with a terminal box for connection to display instruments. ?
Working Principle
Based on the thermoelectric effect principle, when two different metals are in contact and a temperature difference exists, a thermoelectromotive force proportional to the temperature difference is generated in the circuit, and the temperature is determined by measuring this potential difference. ?
Application Scenarios
?Industrial Measurement?: Used in industries such as petrochemicals, metallurgy, and ceramics to measure furnace temperatures, pipeline temperatures, etc. ?
?Scientific Research Experiments?: Temperature monitoring of high-temperature equipment in laboratories. ?
?Daily Applications?: Temperature control in devices such as ovens and radiators. ?
Features
?Advantages?: Good linearity, high sensitivity, strong oxidation resistance, low cost, suitable for oxidizing or inert environments. ?
?Limitations?: Not to be used in sulfur-containing, reducing atmospheres, or vacuum environments
