The BOT-3000E is the third-generation design product from Regan Scientific Instruments and is recognized worldwide as an advanced, portable digital friction and wear testing machine. The device continues to utilize the automated drag sled principle originally established in Germany by prominent scientific researchers. It has been meticulously designed to avoid premature wear or mechanical fatigue caused by springs, actuators, dials, weights, or other components. It can export a stable test result (in PDF format) based on data collected by the machine after testing.

This device accurately measures the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) and Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) on both wet and dry surfaces. It is primarily used for flooring in public spaces and indoor areas, but it can also determine the slip resistance of other materials such as paint, wax, other flat metal coatings, plastics, wood, laminates, concrete, and stone surfaces.
