BS6807 Product Scope:

This standard describes the methods for assessing the ignitability of mattresses, upholstered divans, and upholstered bed bases when exposed to different flaming types of primary and secondary ignition sources.

2.Identify the ignition source; different products are applicable to different ignition sources;

During the gas flame ignition source combustion test, sustained smoldering for 15 minutes after removing the ignition source is not allowed (the value for wooden crib ignition sources is 60 minutes). The test does not allow any horizontal charring distance from the nearest ignition point to exceed 100 mm. The gas ignition source is removed after 40 seconds (ignition source 2) or 70 seconds (ignition source 3). For ignition sources 4-5, if no combustion occurs within 10 minutes of starting the test, the test continues (the value for ignition sources 6-7 is 13 minutes).
