The US Environmental Express HotBlock COD Digester can digest up to 56 or 63 samples at once, allowing more samples to be processed simultaneously and saving valuable time for laboratory technicians. With a 16mm aperture and a round-bottom flask design, it accommodates standard digestion tube sizes, making it suitable not only for COD digestion tubes but also for various other digestion tubes, such as those for total phosphorus and total nitrogen.

The heating module evenly distributes heat to all samples throughout the digestion process. The device maintains a set temperature within ±0.1°C and ensures consistency within ±1.5°C. All heating zones are protected by the Safe-Sample? module, which triggers an alarm and immediately cuts off power to the heating module in the unlikely event of a temperature runaway.

The heating module is made of graphite, which offers excellent thermal conductivity, rapid heating, and ensures uniform heat distribution across each heating well. Graphite is chemically stable, corrosion-resistant, and withstands acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. The graphite heating module is coated with a Teflon layer, which has a low friction coefficient, preventing scratches on the outer walls of COD digestion tubes during insertion and removal, thereby ensuring measurement accuracy. Teflon is non-stick, moisture-resistant, and easy to clean. It also resists corrosion, ensuring that the digester remains unaffected by acids, alkalis, or organic solvents, allowing the COD digester to operate stably and reliably over extended periods.

The controller is programmable and comes with preset temperature settings of 150°C and a digestion completion time of two hours.
