YOUNG Model 86106 Ultrasonic Anemometer

The YOUNG Model 86106 Ultrasonic Anemometer measures horizontal wind speed and direction. This lightweight and compact sensor features a durable, corrosion-resistant construction, with sensitive ultrasonic transducers mounted in a streamlined molded frame. Each sensor is wind tunnel tested and calibrated to provide accurate wind measurements over a wide operating range. The sensor is pre-configured to output NMEA serial (RS-485, 4800 baud), but RS-232 and various output formats are also available. Analog voltage outputs for wind speed and direction are provided. A 4-20 mA current signal per channel is available, ideal for long cable runs or industrial environments where noise immunity is important. The sensor mounts on a standard 1-inch IPS pipe. An orientation ring is included that engages the sensor base to maintain orientation when the sensor is removed for maintenance. Termination is via small clip-on connectors in a junction box at the base of the sensor (no special connectors required).
