Reverse osmosis technology is a membrane separation technology used in conjunction with pre-treatment systems. By utilizing the pressurization of high-pressure pumps and the interception of reverse osmosis membranes, it effectively removes impurities such as dissolved solids, organic matter, colloids, microorganisms, and bacteria from water. It features a wide range of applications, high automation, small footprint, low energy consumption, and excellent output water quality.

Reverse osmosis is a membrane separation technology driven by pressure, utilizing a selectively permeable (semi-permeable) membrane. When the pressure applied to the system exceeds the osmotic pressure of the incoming water, water molecules continuously pass through the membrane, flow into the central tube via the product water channel, and exit from one end. Impurities in the water, such as ions, organic matter, bacteria, and viruses, are retained on the feed side of the membrane and then discharged through the concentrate outlet, achieving separation and purification.

Components and Functions of Reverse Osmosis Pure Water Equipment:

1. Raw water tank: Function: Stores raw water for the system, regulates incoming water, and allows sedimentation of impurities.
2. Multi-media filter: Function: Initially removes sand, impurities, suspended solids, and other particles to reduce water turbidity.
3. Activated carbon filter: Function: Adsorbs discoloration, odors, residual chlorine, etc., using carbon adsorption principles.
4. Security filter: Function: Prevents large particles from entering the reverse osmosis membrane, protecting it from damage.
5. Reverse osmosis unit: Function: Primarily achieves pure water production through reverse osmosis filtration.
High-pressure pump: Provides the necessary pressure for reverse osmosis, ensuring separation of solvent and solute. The high-pressure pump is one of the key components of reverse osmosis equipment.
▼ Reverse osmosis membrane module: Composed of polymer fibers with a highly ordered matrix structure. Its pore size ranges from 1–10 angstroms (one ten-billionth to one billionth of a meter—equivalent to 1/6000th the size of E. coli and 1/3000th the size of a virus). Utilizing the separation characteristics of reverse osmosis membranes, it effectively removes dissolved salts, colloids, organic matter, heavy metals, trihalomethane intermediates from chlorination disinfection, bacteria, and microorganisms.

▼ Flow meter: Pure water and concentrate flow meters measure the instantaneous flow rates of RO pure water and concentrate, respectively.

▼ Concentrate regulating valve: Adjusts the operating pressure, pure water-to-concentrate ratio, and pure water output of the RO unit.
▼ Conductivity meter: Monitors the conductivity of the reverse osmosis product water.
▼ Low-pressure switch: Prevents the RO high-pressure pump from running dry or operating below the extreme low-pressure limit.
▼ Level controller: Automatically stops or starts the reverse osmosis equipment based on the water levels in the raw water tank and pure water tank.
▼ Electrical control system: Includes instruments such as conductivity meters and control devices, serving as the control center for the reverse osmosis equipment.
Designing reverse osmosis equipment for producing pure water and high-purity water requires comprehensive consideration of each user's industry characteristics, water production requirements, and on-site conditions.
6. Pure water tank: Function: Stores the reverse osmosis product water and provides a water source for usage points.

Installation and Operation of Reverse Osmosis Pure Water Equipment:

1. Place the reverse osmosis pure water unit and pre-treatment system near the water source and power supply.

2. Load filtration media such as quartz sand, activated carbon, and softening resin.

3. Connect water lines: Connect the raw water pump inlet to the water source, connect the pre-filter outlet to the unit inlet, and route the drainage outlets of the pre-treatment system and the unit to the sewer.

4. Electrical connections: Securely ground the equipment and connect the provided power cable to the room's electrical control box.

5. Supply water and power, and follow the steps outlined in the "Pre-treatment Operation Instructions" to complete pre-treatment debugging.

6. To operate the unit, set the raw water pump switch to the automatic position and turn on the shutdown switch. After supplying water and power, wait until the pressure at the multi-stage pump outlet reaches the set value of the pressure controller for the multi-stage pump to start. Once the multi-stage pump is running, adjust the system pressure to 1.0–1.2 MPa. For the first startup, manually flush the RO membrane system for 30 minutes.
