I. Product Overview

Distribution lines are susceptible to lightning, trees, bamboo, strong winds, and other influences, leading to fault outages. To address the difficulties in locating faults and the long cycles involved in traditional distribution line fault investigation, Dingxin Intelligence has introduced the Distribution Network Traveling Wave Fault Warning and Location Device. By installing distributed monitoring terminals on the conductors, using a hybrid power supply method primarily based on CT coupling for power extraction, supplemented by solar and backup batteries, the device collects traveling wave signals from line faults in real time and wirelessly transmits them to the monitoring center for analysis and calculation. This enables fault location and diagnosis, improving the efficiency of distribution network fault repair.

II. Main Functions

1.Fault Recording: When a line fault occurs, the device has fault recording functionality for fault judgment. The recording range includes no less than 4 cycles before activation and 8 cycles after activation.

2.Data Acquisition: Synchronously collects high-frequency traveling wave currents and power frequency currents of the distribution line, and records high-precision clock data.

3. Fault Warning: Collects high-frequency discharge traveling wave waveform data caused by line defects, analyzes discharge development trends, and issues warnings with an accuracy greater than 90%.

4.Grounding Line Selection: Based on monitoring data from the beginning of each feeder line, uses traveling wave and transient methods to achieve grounding fault line selection, including metallic grounding, arc grounding, low-resistance grounding, and high-resistance grounding (3kΩ).

5.Fault Location: Uses traveling wave ranging technology to calculate the fault interval and specific location based on the time difference of traveling waves reaching the device. The fault location results include fault time, fault distance, and precise tower number.

6.Tracking and Warning: Continuously monitors indicators such as voltage deviation, frequency deviation, harmonics, voltage fluctuations and flicker, and three-phase imbalance. Provides alarm indications for grounding, short circuits, low voltage, and heavy overloads.
