I. Working Principle: Intelligent Monitoring Based on Conductivity and Resistance Changes

Leak detection cables are typically made of conductive polymer materials and must be used in conjunction with a leak controller. Their working principles can be divided into two categories:

1. Non-locating detection: Consists of two parallel conductive core wires. When liquid contacts the cable, the conductivity of water causes a short circuit between the two core wires. The controller triggers an alarm due to a sharp drop in resistance but cannot locate the leak point.  

2. Locating detection: Employs a four-core structure (two sensing wires + two signal wires). When encountering water, the sensing wires short-circuit, and the signal wires calculate the leak location (error ≤ 0.5 meters) based on resistance changes. For example, the controller precisely pinpoints the leak point by comparing the total resistance with the impedance per unit length.  

Additionally, some high-end detection cables support multi-scenario adaptation. For instance, acid and alkali leak detection relies on special conductive materials, while oil leak detection triggers a short-circuit mechanism through material shrinkage upon contact with oil. However, the principles differ significantly from water leak detection.

II. Core Features: Precision, Flexibility, and High Reliability

1. High-precision locating: Locating detection cables can control errors within 0.1-0.5 meters, significantly reducing troubleshooting time, making them suitable for long-distance pipelines or complex areas.  

2. Environmental adaptability:  

Resistance to extreme temperatures and humidity: Some models support operating environments from -50°C to 150°C, with corrosion resistance covering a pH range of 1-14.  

Flexible design: Cables with diameters of only 1.5-8mm can bend 360°, adapting to narrow spaces such as pipeline gaps and tank bottoms.  

3. Smart integration and remote management: Integration with RS485 and Modbus protocols enables聯(lián)動(dòng) with DCS and PLC systems to trigger valve closure or alarm notifications; supports cloud monitoring to build an active protection network.  

4. Easy installation: No special substrate required; can be laid on tiles, concrete floors, etc., but must avoid contact with metal conductors and ensure the cable remains dry and clean.
