Shangbaite Air Source Heat Pump Working Principle is a device based on the reverse Carnot cycle principle. It absorbs low-grade thermal energy from the air and, with the help of an electrically driven compressor, converts it into usable high-grade thermal energy. This equipment has both cooling and heating functions: The switching between cooling and heating modes is achieved by reversing the refrigerant flow direction via a four-way valve.

Heating Mode: Step 1 (Evaporation/Heat Absorption): Low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant flows through the outdoor evaporator. The outdoor fan circulates air over the evaporator fins, allowing the refrigerant to absorb heat from the air and evaporate into a low-temperature, low-pressure gas. Step 2 (Compression): The low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant is drawn into the compressor and compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas. The electricity consumed by the compressor provides the energy to elevate the thermal energy grade. Step 3 (Condensation/Heat Release): Air System: The high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant enters the indoor condenser. The indoor fan circulates air over the condenser fins, where the refrigerant releases heat, condensing into a medium-temperature, high-pressure liquid. The heated air is then delivered indoors for heating. Water System: The refrigerant releases heat to the circulating water in a plate heat exchanger, condensing into a medium-temperature, high-pressure liquid. The heated water is pumped to indoor terminal units for radiant heating. Step 4 (Expansion): The medium-temperature, high-pressure liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion device, where its pressure and temperature drop, turning it into a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid or a liquid-gas mixture. It then returns to the evaporator inlet to begin a new cycle.

Cooling Mode (via four-way valve flow reversal): The original condenser becomes the evaporator (absorbing heat indoors), and the original evaporator becomes the condenser (releasing heat outdoors). Step 1 (Evaporation/Heat Absorption): Low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant flows through the indoor evaporator, absorbing heat from the indoor air and evaporating into a low-temperature, low-pressure gas. The cooled air is then recirculated. Step 2 (Compression): The low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant is compressed by the compressor into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas. Step 3 (Condensation/Heat Release): The high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant enters the outdoor condenser, where it releases heat to the outdoor air and condenses into a medium-temperature, high-pressure liquid. Step 4 (Expansion): The liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion device, where its pressure and temperature drop before returning to the indoor evaporator inlet. Key Point: The heat pump "transports" heat. During heating, it "extracts" heat from the outdoor air and transfers it indoors. During cooling, it "extracts" heat from indoors and releases it outdoors. Its efficiency (COP, EER) is far higher than that of traditional electric heating (COP=1).
