Testing Standards

Diapers

Dimensions and Specifications: According to GB/T 33280 - 2016, they are categorized into infant diapers and adult diapers. Based on wearing methods, there are waist-tape type infant diapers and pants-type infant diapers. Different types have varying applicable weight, hip circumference, and waist circumference maximum values.

Technical Indicators: Testing includes dimensional deviation, permeability, pH value, moisture exchange, etc. Among these, dimensional deviation and permeability are further subdivided into multiple indicators.

Appearance Quality: Requirements include cleanliness, colorfastness, absence of hard lumps, no damage, soft texture, secure sealing, intact leak-proof bottom film, uniform elastic band adhesion, and compliance of specified bonding positions with usage requirements.

Hygiene Indicators: Coliform bacteria and pathogenic purulent bacteria must not be detected. Additionally, initial contamination bacteria, total bacterial colony count, total fungal colony count, and other indicators need to be tested. Toxicological requirements include skin irritation tests, skin sensitization tests, etc.

Raw Material Testing: For absorbent resin used, refer to GB/T 22875 - 2018 "Super Absorbent Polymer for Diapers and Sanitary Napkins"; for fluff pulp used, refer to GB/T 21331 - 2008 "Fluff Pulp". Meanwhile, ethylene oxide residue testing refers to SN/T 4391 - 2015 "Determination of Ethylene Oxide Residues in Disposable Hygiene Products: Sanitary Napkins, Panty Liners, Diapers, Disinfected Cotton".

Other National Standards: GB/T 28004.1 - 2021 "Diapers Part 1: Infant Diapers" and GB/T 28004.2 - 2021 "Diapers Part 2: Adult Diapers" specify testing contents such as migratable fluorescent substances, acrylamide (content ≤0.1mg/kg), phthalates (sum of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), and di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) ≤0.1%), etc.

Sanitary Napkins

Migratable Fluorescent Substances: According to GB/T 8939 - 2018 standard, qualified sanitary napkins should show no obvious fluorescence.

Formaldehyde Content: According to GB/T 8939 - 2018 standard, formaldehyde content in sanitary napkins must not exceed 75mg/kg.

Absorption Performance: Damage to the recycled fiber structure can lead to poor absorption performance, causing side leakage and backflow.

pH Value: Must be within the normal range; otherwise, it may interfere with the body's natural balance and increase the risk of infection.

Microbiological Indicators: Include total bacterial colony count, coliform bacteria, pathogenic purulent bacteria, total fungal colony count, etc.

Back Adhesive Peel Strength: Non-compliance with standards may cause product displacement, slippage during use, or leave significant residue during replacement.

Additionally, hygiene requirements for disposable sanitary products must comply with GB15979 - 2002, which will soon be replaced by GB15979 - 2024. The new standard will be officially implemented on July 1, 2025.

Routine Testing: Appearance quality, dimensional deviation, permeability, pH value, initial contamination bacteria, total bacterial colony count, coliform bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococcus, total fungal colony count, bactericidal performance, elutable anti (inhibitory) product antibacterial performance, stability testing, non-elutable anti (inhibitory) product antibacterial performance, ethylene oxide, skin irritation test, vaginal mucosa irritation test, skin sensitization test, etc.

Sanitary Napkins

Partial Testing Items: Absorption performance, permeability, breathability, antibacterial performance, formaldehyde content, pH value, fluorescent whitening agents, heavy metal content, microbiological indicators, appearance quality, etc.

Applicable Purposes

Suitable for quality inspection for entry and renewal on e-commerce platforms (such as Tmall, JD.com, Suning, etc.), and quality inspection for entry into shopping malls and supermarkets.
