Classification of Rebar Sleeve Connection Methods

1. Standard Connection 

Used in situations where free rotation is possible. Suitable for connecting the ends of rebars with opposing forces. Standard sleeves or reducing-type connection sleeves can be selected. 

2. Extended Connection 

Used when rebars are too long and densely arranged, making rotation inconvenient. The connection sleeve is first fully screwed onto the extended thread of one rebar, then reversely screwed onto the end thread of the connecting rebar. Rotating the rebar half to one turn locks the connection. Extended connection sleeves can be used. 

3. Locknut-Type Connection 

Used when rebars cannot rotate at all, such as in bent rebars and mutual對(duì)接 of rebar cages in bridges and cast-in-place piles. The locknut and connection sleeve are first screwed onto the extended thread, then onto the end thread of the other rebar, locking the connection sleeve with the locknut. Standard or flared-type connection sleeves with locknuts can be selected. 

4. Right- and Left-Hand Thread Connection 

Used when rebars cannot rotate but require adjustment of internal forces, such as at construction joints and post-poured strips. The connection sleeve has both right- and left-hand threads, allowing two rebars to be loosened or tightened in one rotation direction. Connection sleeves with right- and left-hand threads should be selected.
