Introduction to Rust Converter Anti-Corrosion Material

Rust Converter is a single-component, 100% water-based environmentally friendly product for converting and inhibiting rust. It can be used directly after opening. When applied to the rust layer surface, it undergoes a complexation reaction with the rust, forming a dense gray-black film that provides rust conversion, inhibition, and blocking effects. Applying New Rust Treasure on rusted surfaces followed by the corresponding coating can reduce the time and difficulty of rust removal and significantly extend the coating's lifespan.

The main components of this product include deionized water, modified acrylate polymer, organic biological rust converter, penetrant, accelerator, activator, nano-active cage-structured particles, and other polymers.

III. Application Areas

Conversion and protection of various oxide layers and thin rust. Suitable for rust conversion on H-shaped steel structures, color steel, iron pipe exteriors, tanks, thin-walled parts, valves, etc. Can be used as a primer.

IV. Operating Steps

1. Open and inspect. After opening, stir evenly to ensure no hard lumps at the bottom. The emulsion should be free of clumps or solidification to qualify.

2. Surface treatment. Remove oil, loose rust, and dust from the rusted surface to be treated. Methods include using oil and rust remover, compressed air blowing, or wire brush grinding.

3. Apply rust converter. Apply directly (brushing, roller coating, spraying). If the first coat does not fully cover, wait until it turns black and surface-dry before applying the second coat, approximately 30 minutes (at ambient temperature above 24°C but not exceeding 60°C). The first coat should be thin to ensure better wetting and avoid sagging. If using a compressor for spraying, ensure the compressor is free of oil and water.

4. Apply topcoat. The topcoat can be sprayed after the rust converter has fully turned black and surface-dried, or within 7 days after New Rust Treasure has completely dried.

5. Clean tools. Rinse any tools that have come into contact with the rust converter, such as spray guns, brushes, plastic buckets, gloves, and clothing, with clean water.

V. Precautions

1. Not recommended for outdoor use in rainy, snowy, or windy conditions. Temperatures below 5°C or above 60°C may affect film curing and penetration. Conduct tests or consult Haiqin Liwen Company as needed.

2. Do not dilute with water arbitrarily, and never use solvents or thinners for dilution. Application tools should not be mixed with other materials (especially paint).

3. This product is not recommended for use as a topcoat for corrosion protection, except for short-term or indoor corrosion protection.

4. Rust converter has no pungent paint odor and can briefly contact the skin; however, wearing protective clothing during application is advised.

5. Since rust converter resembles milk, keep it away from children to prevent accidental ingestion. If it gets into the eyes or is ingested, seek medical attention immediately.

VI. Packaging, Transportation, and Shelf Life

1. Packaged in 20kg plastic buckets.

2. Rust Treasure is a water-based product, not classified as hazardous, and is non-flammable and non-explosive.

3. Store in a shaded environment at 5°C to 45°C. Under these conditions, the product has a shelf life of 12 months. Storage outside this temperature range may shorten the shelf life or even damage the material.
