When subjected to impact, the buffer strip primarily relies on the physical elasticity of elastic materials to provide excellent cushioning. Therefore, the rubber elasticity must meet certain conditions. Internationally, the rubber elasticity used for buffer strips is around Shore hardness 55 (if used underground, the rubber must be treated flame-retardant rubber). It must also possess certain tear resistance, tensile strength, elongation at break, and adhesion strength between rubber and metal profiles, which are important criteria for evaluating buffer strips.

The surface material of the buffer strip, UHMW-PE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene sheet), is smooth and wear-resistant, reducing frictional resistance and thereby minimizing the impact of materials on the conveyor belt. On-site installation and maintenance are simple. Buffer strips can be replaced individually or on one side, and loosening the T-bolt allows for quick replacement of the buffer strip.

The buffer strip uses a high-quality, highly elastic special rubber layer to fully and effectively absorb the impact force of falling materials, significantly reducing the impact on the conveyor belt and genuinely improving the stress conditions at the discharge point. The special UHMW polyethylene surface reduces the friction coefficient between the conveyor belt and the buffer strip to a very low level while offering excellent wear resistance. The use of buffer strips ensures surface-to-surface contact with the conveyor belt, distributing force evenly and effectively preventing longitudinal tearing of the belt caused by roller breakage or detachment. It also greatly reduces the probability of longitudinal tearing after the belt is penetrated by sharp objects or materials.
