1. Certification Introduction

SQM stands for Saudi Quality Mark. It is a mandatory compliance mark required by Saudi SASO for manufacturers to demonstrate that their products have passed testing, and that the factory quality system has undergone a comprehensive evaluation to meet SASO technical regulations and relevant standards. It also ensures ongoing compliance through post-certification surveillance.

2. Controlled Products

(1) Gas appliances and accessories (household cookers, ovens, grills, LPG heaters, gas rubber hoses, etc.)

(2) Building materials: Metal components and their alloys for construction engineering (steel plates, steel coils, structural steel, aluminum and aluminum alloys, etc.), hydraulic connectors and related products (cement, concrete blocks, gypsum boards, etc.), ceramic tiles

(3) Chemical products: Biodegradable materials

(4) Electrical appliances: Plugs, sockets, switches, cord extension sets (power strips)

(5) Electric vehicle accessories: Seat belts, brake pads, wheels, radiators, rearview mirrors, vehicle lights, etc.

3. Certification Process

(1) Submit application

(2) Product testing

(3) Factory audit

(4) Final document review

(5) Obtain SQM certificate

The SQM certificate is valid for three years and requires an annual surveillance inspection.
