1. Introduction to Ambient Air Monitoring

Ambient air refers to the outdoor air where people, plants, animals, and buildings are located.

Ambient air monitoring involves the collection and testing of ambient air to determine the types and concentrations of pollutants, thereby identifying harmful gases and air quality.

2. Monitoring Scope

(1) Ambient air in Class I areas: including nature reserves, scenic spots, and other areas requiring special protection.

(2) Ambient air in Class II areas: including residential areas, commercial and residential mixed zones, cultural zones, industrial areas, and rural regions.

3. Monitoring Items

Basic items: Sulfur dioxide (SO₂), Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), Carbon monoxide (CO), Ozone (O₃), Particulate matter (particle size ≤ 10μm), Particulate matter (particle size ≤ 2.5μm)

Other items: Total suspended particulates (TSP), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Lead (Pb), Benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Arsenic (As), Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), Fluorides (F)
