1. Certification Introduction

The ISC certification is a safety compliance standard evaluation and certification administered by the Institute of Standards of Cambodia, Ministry of Industry and Handicraft. This certification scheme was implemented in October 2004, primarily targeting both mandatory and non-mandatory standards. The scope of regulated products includes chemicals, electrical and electronic appliances, and food products.

In 2006, Cambodia's Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Commerce jointly issued mandatory certification requirements for chemicals, food, and electrical and electronic products. For these products to be imported into Cambodia, they must undergo product safety certification, register with the Cambodian Industrial Standards Department, and obtain an import product distribution confirmation letter before customs will release the goods. The ISC certification is typically valid for three years and must be renewed every three years, with renewal applications submitted 30 days prior to the certificate's expiration.

2. Product Scope

There are over 100 types of products involved, mainly including:

(1) Food: all food categories;

(2) Chemicals;

(3) Electrical and Electronic Products:

1) Small household appliances such as juicers, vacuum cleaners, and rice cookers;

2) Wires, plugs, switches, fuses;

3) IT products, televisions, DVDs, computers, etc.;

4) Lamp holders, lighting fixtures, power adapters;

5) Power tools.
