The Extra-Long Snake Gourd, also known as Snake Silk Gourd or Snake Bean, features a unique shape and an ornamental period of up to three months, making it a rare and excellent variety for sightseeing agriculture. It is an annual climbing herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Trichosanthes in the Cucurbitaceae family. Native to India and Malaysia, it is widely distributed across Southeast Asian countries and Australia, with cultivation also found in tropical West Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean. In China, it is only sporadically cultivated. The tender fruit of the snake gourd is used as a vegetable, while the young leaves and stems are also edible.
