Main Applications

Adhesive Field

Due to its high VA content and excellent adhesion, it can be used to prepare high-viscosity adhesives. Hot melt adhesives based on EVA resin as the main component are solvent-free, environmentally friendly, and safe, making them highly suitable for automated production lines. They are widely used in wireless bookbinding, furniture edge banding, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, footwear manufacturing, carpet coating, and anti-corrosion coatings for metals.

Coating Field

Its good fluidity makes it suitable for coating and spraying processes, enabling the production of various types of coatings.

Foamed Footwear Materials

Footwear materials represent a major application area for EVA resin in China. Due to the softness, excellent elasticity, and chemical resistance of EVA resin blended foam products, Mitsui Chemicals' EVA 45X is used in the soles and interior materials of sports shoes, hiking boots, slippers, and sandals. It is also applied in soundproof panels, gym mats, and sealing materials.

Functional Greenhouse Films

The primary use of EVA films is in the production of functional greenhouse films. Greenhouse films made with a certain amount of EVA resin not only exhibit high light transmittance but also significantly improved anti-drip performance, typically lasting over 4 months. In contrast, polyethylene films with anti-drip additives maintain their anti-drip properties for only about 2 months.

Wire and Cable

With the continuous development of computer and network engineering, halogen-free flame-retardant cables and silane cross-linked cables are increasingly used for data center safety. Due to its excellent filler compatibility and cross-linking properties, Mitsui Chemicals' EVA 45X is widely used in halogen-free flame-retardant cables and two-step silane cross-linked cables. It is also employed in the production of sheaths for some special cables.
