Liquid-solid separation is an essential unit operation in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing. Through research on China's powdered activated carbon filtration equipment industry in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, it was found that the decolorization filtration equipment using powdered activated carbon, widely employed in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and formulations, is outdated and inefficient. In response, our company's R&D team has successfully developed the SHK plate and frame filter press. Currently, this filtration equipment produced by our company is being used in pharmaceutical and chemical production, demonstrating excellent filtration performance. Structure: The SHK filter consists of a cylinder, filter plates, sight glasses, a bidirectional compression device, and a circulation pipeline system. When the feed valve is opened, filtration begins, and the filtrate is transported to the designated storage tank. Working Principle: The slurry is pumped into the filter. Once the upper vent valve indicates that the filter is filled with slurry, feeding stops. The circulation pipeline system is activated to allow the slurry to undergo cyclic filtration within the filter body. The sight glass is monitored, and when visual inspection confirms that the quality meets requirements, the circulation system is closed. The discharge valve is then opened to initiate filtration, and the filtrate is delivered to the specified storage tank. The stainless steel powdered activated carbon filter is available in two types: Type 1 (heated and insulated filtration) and Type 2 (standard).
