At the exhibition, Lubrizol Life Science Polymers will showcase the recently launched Pellethane? TPU products for wound care and medical devices.
The newly introduced Pellethane? TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) grades 5863-82A, 5863-82AE, 5863-85A, and 5863-90A provide high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) for wound film management, allowing wounds to breathe while blocking water and other particles.
The additional Pellethane? grades are developed for medical device and medical material applications. Since TPU offers higher tensile strength compared to other elastomeric materials, catheters, tubing, and medical bags made from Pellethane? exhibit high resistance to wear and puncture. Using conventional extrusion equipment, 1mm thick films can now be extruded or laminated onto various substrates, producing thinner, lighter, more economical, and waterproof materials, including non-woven patient garments and drapes.
Additionally, the 2363 series focuses on polyether-based products; specific grades: 2363-80A, 2363-80AE, 2363-90A, 2363-90AE, 2363-55D, 2363-55DE, 2363-65D, 2363-75D; also available is the EG series using non-yellowing medical-grade materials. EG-80, EG-85, etc., are suitable for long-term implantation in the human body.
