Technical Principle

The mechanism of heterogeneous Fenton catalysts involves the diffusion of organic compounds from the bulk solution to the active sites on the catalyst surface, where they are adsorbed. Subsequently, under the catalytic action of the catalyst components, a free radical chain reaction is initiated to oxidize and degrade the organic compounds. The degradation products then desorb from the catalyst surface and diffuse back into the bulk solution. However, regardless of the specific mode of action of the catalyst, the surface of the catalyst in a heterogeneous system generally undergoes a complex iron cycle process to maintain the smooth progress of the overall catalytic oxidation reaction. The active species responsible for oxidation are generated during this process.
