The imported FILTEC thread insert is a new type of internal thread fastener that can be embedded into metal or non-metallic materials to form a high-strength, wear-resistant, and interchangeable standard internal thread. It can also be used to repair worn or damaged internal thread holes. The thread insert is a precisely formed spiral coil made of diamond-shaped wire, serving as a concentric body for both internal and external threads, with one end featuring a radially bent installation tang. In its free state, the diameter of the thread insert is slightly larger than the internal thread it is to be installed into. During assembly, the torque applied by the installation tool to the installation tang causes the diameter of the guide coil to elastically contract, allowing it to enter the pre-tapped internal thread hole made with a specialized tap for thread inserts. Once installed, the thread insert expands like a spring, firmly securing it within the internal thread hole, thus forming a high-precision internal thread that complies with international standards. The uneven stress distribution between the bolt and the threaded hole caused by pitch and angle errors can be balanced by the elasticity of the thread insert, with all its spiral coils sharing the load. Thread inserts are categorized into standard type and locking type based on their function. The locking type thread insert not only possesses all the features of the standard type but also provides thread locking capability, achieved through the polygonal locking elasticity that brakes the bolt. Product Advantages Unlike domestic similar products that use 321 steel (1Cr18Ni9Ti) and 304 steel (0Cr18Ni9), our product is made of 301 steel (X10CrNi18-8), a high-alloy steel with low carbon content. The low carbon content enhances the stainless steel's resistance to intergranular corrosion. Additionally, the chromium content is strictly controlled from an environmental perspective. Since titanium (Ti) has a strong affinity for nitrogen (N), which can affect the strength of stainless steel, the Ti element has been eliminated.
