II. Performance
This product is a colorless or slightly yellow transparent oily liquid, miscible with water and polar organic solvents such as ethanol, propanol, propylene glycol, etc., and also compatible with BASF's Protectol GA50 and Protectol PP. Due to its excellent solubility, it can blend with various types of products and is used to solubilize and dissolve multiple raw materials and active ingredients. Phenoxyethanol is miscible with water (2.4%) and polar organic solvents, such as ethanol, propanol, and propylene glycol. Because of its solubility characteristics, phenoxyethanol easily integrates with different types of products. It also possesses excellent solubilizing properties, making it suitable for dissolving various raw materials and active ingredients, such as 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, parabens, 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane (DBDCB), and iodopropynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC). At the recommended concentration, this product does not irritate the skin and is not a mutagen.
III. Applications
This product is used as a preservative and bactericide in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and household cleaning products; in formulations for disinfecting hard surfaces and surgical medical equipment, it is used in combination with other bactericidal active ingredients to enhance their antimicrobial activity. The bactericidal activity of this product is effective over a wide pH range, making it suitable for various formulation types. It has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.06% - 1.00%.
This product can be used for the preservation of eye drops and injectable preparations.
IV. Packaging
This product is packaged in 230 kg plastic drums. The packaging container is labeled with the product name, specifications, batch number, net weight, and manufacturer name.
V. Transportation and Storage
This product should be stored in a sealed container in a well-ventilated, dry, and cool place. During transportation, handle with care, avoid collisions, and do not invert.
Storage at an ambient temperature of 50°C for up to 12 months has shown no signs of instability. Under normal storage conditions, the shelf life is 24 months.
