BAl13-3 Aluminum White Copper

Characteristics and Application Range:

BAl13-3 aluminum white copper is a structural copper-nickel alloy that can be heat-treated. In addition to high strength (the highest among white coppers) and corrosion resistance, it also possesses high elasticity and cold resistance. Its mechanical properties not only do not decrease at low temperatures (90K) but actually improve, a characteristic not found in other copper alloys.

Chemical Composition:

Copper Cu: Balance

Nickel + Cobalt Ni+Co: 12.0–15.0

Lead Pb: ≤0.003

Phosphorus P: ≤0.01

Aluminum Al: 2.3–3.0

Iron Fe: ≤1.0

Manganese Mn: ≤0.50

Note: ≤1.9 (Impurities)

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength σ (MPa): ≥685

Elongation δ10 (%): ≥6

Note: Longitudinal room-temperature tensile mechanical properties of bar specimens with diameters of 40–80 mm.

Heat Treatment Specifications:

Casting Temperature: 1250–1300°C

Quenching Temperature: 900°C

Tempering Temperature: 500°C

Hot Working Temperature: 900–1000°C.
