Unsaturated Polyester Resin Toughening Agent

The cured product of unsaturated polyester resin exhibits high hardness and good mechanical strength but is relatively brittle, with poor peel resistance, crack resistance, impact resistance, and shock absorption properties. Stress cracking in cured epoxy resins often results from excessive rigidity, hardness, and brittleness, lacking flexibility. The addition of a toughening agent can form a network structure with the resin, effectively preventing stress cracking after curing and enhancing the resin's toughness.

Main Characteristics:

The primary role of toughening is to improve the brittleness of cured epoxy resin products, enhancing their tensile strength, impact resistance, peel resistance, and other properties. It possesses toughening performance, stability, and physical mechanical properties, along with lubrication, solubilization, defoaming and foam suppression, plasticization, and antifreeze capabilities. It effectively addresses the brittleness of resin products, prevents post-curing cracking, and improves the leveling performance of the resin.

Application Scope:

Suitable for various resin systems: unsaturated polyester resin, polyurethane, epoxy resin, acrylic resin, etc.

Dosage and Usage Method

Add to the resin system at a certain temperature and dissolve thoroughly to form a network structure, specifically a sea-island structure, with the resin. The recommended temperature is 75-80°C, and the dosage is 0.2-1% of the resin amount.
