The flame-free venting device comprises two parts—an explosion-proof panel and a fire extinguishing module. The explosion-proof panel responds rapidly to rising deflagration pressure, opening immediately to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open explosion-proof panel, it is intercepted by the fire extinguishing module. The stainless steel precision mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame to prevent propagation and avoid secondary or multiple explosions. The fire extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces hot gas temperature, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open explosion-proof panel.

Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are minimized. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor, heat exchange occurs with the flame arrestor, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing pressure waves or noise from production equipment.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety is gaining more attention. In the past, explosion venting panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, installing such devices indoors is not permitted by safety regulations because it endangers surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from explosions could trigger secondary or multiple explosions, posing risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion-proof panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flame-free venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Blocks explosions using an isolation valve to prevent flame propagation.
