High-Strength Inert Alumina Balls

 Inert ceramic balls come in various types, with alumina-based ones including grinding balls, heat storage balls, refractory balls, filler balls, etc. In terms of shape, alumina filler balls can be either solid or open-pored.

Inert alumina balls are a new type of high-strength, high-porosity spherical support and protective filler used for supporting, covering, and protecting catalysts. Due to their high and uniform porosity and large specific surface area, they effectively filter out colloids, coke powder, heavy metals, and other solid particulate impurities from various raw material vapors and liquids, preventing these impurities from depositing in the catalyst bed and causing catalyst blockage, coking, or even poisoning.

【Main Principle】
Using corundum and mullite-corundum, mullite as the main crystalline phases, and kaolin and feldspar glass sinter as structural bridges, the product leverages the high mechanical strength, high-temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance, strong acid and alkali chemical corrosion resistance, excellent thermal shock resistance, and low chemical activity of alumina sintered corundum and needle-like network mullite structures. The product contains a large amount of needle-like network mullite and corundum crystals, as well as some residual quartz, and is sintered densely with a hard texture that prevents pulverization.
The product exhibits excellent chemical corrosion resistance: it withstands all inorganic and organic acids, as well as all acidic and neutral gases, except hydrofluoric acid. Unless contaminated by impurities in the raw material gas or liquid requiring cleaning or replacement, the product itself will not encounter any issues when used as catalyst cover, support, or protective agent in chemical process equipment, ensuring a service life of over 10 years.

Used in packed towers in industries such as oil refining, coal-to-oil, coal-to-olefins, petrochemicals, fertilizers, methanol, dimethyl ether, coal chemical, natural gas chemical, metallurgy, environmental protection, and fine chemicals (e.g., gas purifiers, natural gas dry adsorption towers, full-range oil hydrogenation units, ammonia synthesis converters, flue gas acid conversion units, etc.).
