Inorganic Thermal Insulation Mortar System

The inorganic thermal insulation mortar system is a new type of energy-saving mortar material used for interior and exterior wall plastering of buildings. It features energy efficiency, waste utilization, thermal insulation, fire and frost resistance, aging resistance, and low cost. The system is mainly composed of multiple layers, including the interface layer, inorganic lightweight aggregate thermal insulation mortar layer, anti-crack surface layer, and finish layer. It is suitable for both external and internal wall insulation, meeting various thermal insulation requirements.

Composition and Performance

The main components of inorganic thermal insulation mortar include lightweight aggregates such as inorganic vitrified microspheres or closed-cell expanded perlite, combined with cementitious materials, anti-crack additives, and other fillers to form dry-mixed mortar. These materials exhibit excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and corrosion, ensuring no cracking or peeling during use, demonstrating high stability and no aging issues. Additionally, inorganic thermal insulation mortar offers good flexibility and water resistance, and it is convenient to mix with water on-site for easy application.

Application Scenarios and Construction Methods

The inorganic thermal insulation mortar system is widely used in densely populated residential buildings, public structures, large public spaces, and flammable or explosive environments where strict fire safety requirements are necessary. During construction, the base surface must first be treated to ensure it is free of dust, oil stains, and other debris that could affect bonding performance. In hot weather or when the base is dry, the surface should be moistened with water. The specialized interface agent for the insulation system should be mixed uniformly at a water-to-cement ratio of 1:4 and applied to the base with a thickness of about 3mm. Then, the inorganic thermal insulation mortar is mixed into a slurry at a water-to-cement ratio of 4:5.5 and evenly applied to the base. For thicknesses exceeding 2cm, application should be done in multiple layers, with intervals of at least 24 hours between each layer. After construction, curing is required for 3-5 days, along with waterproofing treatment.

The cost of the inorganic thermal insulation mortar system is relatively low, with convenient construction and economic affordability. Compared to other insulation systems, inorganic thermal insulation mortar materials offer significant advantages in shorter construction periods and easier quality control, thereby reducing overall costs.
