When the 2L Internal Mixer | Internal Mixer 2L | Small Internal Mixer is working, the two rotors rotate relative to each other, clamping the material from the feed port and bringing it into the roll gap, where it is squeezed and sheared by the rotors. After passing through the roll gap, it hits the lower drop door's sharp edge and is divided into two parts, which return to the area above the roll gap along the gaps between the front and rear chamber walls and the rotors. During one cycle around the rotor, the material is subjected to shearing and friction everywhere, causing the temperature of the compound to rise sharply and the viscosity to decrease, increasing the rubber's wettability on the surface of the compounding agents and ensuring full contact between the rubber and the compounding agent surfaces. The compounding agent agglomerates pass through the gaps between the rotors, between the rotor and the upper and lower drop doors, and the inner wall of the mixing chamber along with the compound, are sheared and broken, surrounded by stretched and deformed rubber, and stabilized in the broken state. At the same time, the rotor's ribs cause the compound to move axially along the rotor, providing a mixing and stirring effect, making the compounding agents evenly mixed in the compound. The compounding agents are repeatedly sheared and broken, the compound repeatedly deforms and recovers, and the continuous stirring of the rotor ribs ensures that the compounding agents are evenly dispersed in the compound and reach a certain degree of dispersion. Since the shearing action on the compound during mixing in the internal mixer is much greater than in the open mill, and the mixing temperature is higher, the efficiency of mixing in the internal mixer is much higher than in the open mill.
