Application

The YD-100 series (1-8 channels) low-background α/β detector is a precision instrument for measuring low-level α and β radioactivity. It can be used for total α and total β radioactivity measurements in water, soil, building materials, ores, aerosols, food, etc. It is suitable for low-level α/β radioactivity measurements conducted by radiation protection and environmental protection departments, medical institutions, biological research, agriculture, scientific research institutes, and universities. The instrument is available in four models: YD-101, YD-102, YD-104, and YD-108. It meets the verification requirements of JJG1100-2014 for flow gas proportional counter total α and total β measuring instruments.

Performance Features

■ Low background count, high particle detection efficiency;
■ Utilizes thin-window flow gas proportional counter tubes as detectors, with control and measurement counters operating in anti-coincidence mode to reduce interference from environmental radioactivity;
■ Detection efficiency for low-energy β rays of ¹⁴C ≥ 40%; superior to similar detectors using semiconductors or scintillators as probes.
■ The mass thickness of the flow gas proportional counter tube window is ~2 μg/cm2, with a measurement window area of ?60 mm and a sample area of ?55 mm.
■ Equipped with PC application software; parameters such as high voltage and threshold can be set via the PC. Features a user-friendly interface, with each channel capable of independent operation and calculation; directly provides the specific radioactivity of measured samples in Bq/L or Bq/kg.
