III. Working Principle

A 0.9~1.1g sample is placed into a heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant crucible, which is then positioned in an oxygen bomb filled with 2.8~3.2 MPa oxygen. The bomb is placed in the inner chamber of the calorimeter, which contains a fixed amount of distilled water. The heat released by the combustion of the combustible material heats the distilled water. Based on the rise in water temperature and the heat capacity of the calorimetric system, the calorific value of the combustible material is calculated.
