Galvanized steel grating is a type of steel grating plate that has been galvanized, featuring characteristics such as ventilation, light transmission, anti-slip properties, and strong load-bearing capacity. Galvanization can be done through hot-dip galvanizing or electroplating, making it suitable for industries such as alloys, construction materials, power plants, and boilers. After zinc steel grating and steel grating plates are produced, they undergo anti-rust treatment, which includes hot-dip galvanizing and electroplating. The standard for hot-dip galvanizing is: GB/T13912-2002 Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Hot-Dip Galvanizing of Steel Products. As a new material and product, steel grating plates are being increasingly widely used, with their numerous superior performance characteristics and good cost-effectiveness demonstrating promising application prospects. This article discusses the performance of steel grating plates, their economic selection, and a comprehensive technical and economic analysis. In industries such as metallurgy, mining, petroleum, power, and industrial sectors, as well as in some civilian applications, steel grating plates are gaining widespread use as a new type of building material. Although referred to as a new material, it has actually been used abroad for several decades, but its widespread application in China has only occurred in the past 10 years. However, much like aluminum alloy doors and windows, compared to traditional materials, people still habitually refer to it as a new material. There are two commonly mentioned types of galvanized steel grating plates: it is important to distinguish between them. Hot-dip galvanizing, also known as hot immersion galvanizing, involves melting zinc ingots at high temperatures, adding some auxiliary materials, and then immersing metal structural components into the galvanizing bath to coat them with a layer of zinc. The advantage of hot-dip galvanizing lies in its strong anti-corrosion capability, as well as the good adhesion and hardness of the zinc layer. After galvanizing, the product's weight increases, and what we often refer to as the zinc coating thickness mainly applies to hot-dip galvanizing. Cold galvanizing, or electroplating, involves using electrolysis to replace iron ions with zinc ions in a zinc salt solution. Generally, no heating is required, but the zinc coating thickness is very low, making it prone to rust in humid environments.
