Cast iron sluice gates are water flow control devices primarily made of cast iron, widely used in hydraulic engineering, water supply and drainage, and wastewater treatment. They regulate water levels and intercept flow by driving the gate plate up and down via a hoist.
Structural Composition
Mainly composed of gate frame, gate plate, lifting seat, and tight sealing bevel iron. The gate frame serves as a support component and slideway, fixed to the gate pier and second-stage concrete of the gate bottom slab through anchor bolts, evenly transferring water pressure to the main structure. Gate plates are categorized into flat (PZ) and arched (PGZ) types based on shape, with arched gates designed with a 60° central angle to reduce hydraulic pressure load.
Material and Performance
Manufactured from HT250 gray cast iron or ductile iron, complying with CJ/T3006-92 and DL/T5018-2004 standards. Critical parts reserve corrosion allowance and undergo stress relief through aging treatment. Sealing structures use copper alloy facings or rubber, with water-stop gaps controlled within 0.1mm, achieving a leakage rate of 0.03-0.07L/m·s.
Installation and Maintenance
Requires overall hoisting into the slot and adjustment of sealing surface gaps with secondary concrete pouring. Routine maintenance includes regular lubrication, anti-corrosion treatment, and inspection of component connections. Drive methods support manual, electric, or pneumatic operation, with the hoist utilizing three-stage reduction and equipped with overload protection devices.
Application Scenarios
Suitable for reservoirs, rivers, hydropower stations, and urban water supply and drainage systems. Capable of withstanding environments from -20°C to 120°C and corrosion from wastewater media, with a pressure head capacity of up to 10 meters bidirectionally.
