Pomegranates enter the upper crushing device from the feed hopper. The upper crushing device presses the pomegranates open, and the lower crushing device further squeezes them. After two stages of pressing, the pomegranate skin and seeds are basically separated and fall into the separation device. The pomegranate seeds drop through the sieve holes, while the skin is discharged from the tail end. The seeds and juice are then transported to the next process using a screw pump.

The pomegranate peeling machine is designed to process whole pomegranates. The skin and seeds are separated through the action of squeezing rollers and a high-speed spiked conveyor that rotates rapidly. The peeled skin is ejected from the rear of the equipment, while the separated seeds fall to the bottom of the machine.
Pomegranate seed crushers are suitable for fruits and vegetables with high sugar content, such as grapes, sea buckthorn, pomegranate seeds, and oranges. For plant materials like Chinese herbal medicine residues, pulp, and bagasse, which contain coarse and abundant fibers, these materials may slip during pressing or fail to discharge due to their fibrous nature. In such cases, a single-screw press with a forced feed plate should be used. Here, the design of the hydraulic pressure for the forced feed plate and the pressing cavity must be tailored according to the material. Improper design of a twin-screw press can lead to issues such as barrel bursting. The advantages of a single-screw press include controllable dryness and wetness, uniform and convenient discharge, and satisfactory output for users.
