Alumina copper offers excellent resistance to softening, wear, and ablation, with a long service life and high spot welding frequency. Its electrode lifespan is more than five times that of ordinary chromium zirconium copper, reducing downtime for electrode maintenance and improving the efficiency of automated welding production lines. It prevents electrode adhesion when welding coated metals, providing an ultimate solution for welding galvanized steel sheets. It is an indispensable electrode material for welding galvanized steel sheets, nickel-plated sheets, nickel strips, aluminum alloys, stainless steel, brass, and more.
The softening temperature is as high as 930°C, which is relatively high among copper alloys but lower than that of tungsten copper (1000°C).
The electrical conductivity reaches up to 85% IACS, and its thermal conductivity falls between that of tungsten copper (220 W/m·K) and pure copper (390 W/m·K).
It exhibits high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and superior wear resistance.

The properties of dispersion-strengthened copper stem from the addition of alumina. The alumina particles are only 3–12 nanometers in size, with an interparticle spacing of about 50–100 nanometers. They exhibit excellent thermal stability, maintaining their original particle size and spacing even at temperatures close to the melting point of copper. The volume fraction of the dispersed phase is extremely small, hardly affecting the inherent physical and chemical properties of the base metal. As a result, the softening temperature reaches as high as 930°C, while electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, hardness, and strength are all well maintained.
