GITR (glucocorticoid induced tumor necrosis factor receptor), also known as AITR or TNFRSF18, is a glucocorticoid induced tumor necrosis factor receptor protein that is a new member of the TNFR superfamily and plays a role in immune regulation. So far, there have been many studies on the role of GITR signaling in the acquired immune system, but there is limited research on innate immunity, which is an important component of the body's immune system. Mononuclear macrophages play an important role in processing antigens, activating lymphocytes, and phagocytosis of bacteria. When effector T cells are activated, a temporary upregulation of GITR occurs. When the GITR signal is triggered, it can be cancelled by TGF β- 1 mediated inhibitory effect.
