Anhui Huabang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., wholly funded by Nanjing Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., is located in the Chuzhou Dingyuan Salt Chemical Industrial Park—a provincial-level chemical industrial park in Anhui. The facility covers an area of 50,000 square meters and includes two modern multi-functional synthesis workshops, one hydrogenation workshop, one 100,000-class cleanroom workshop, two Category A hazardous material warehouses, and one Category C warehouse. A 1,000-square-meter testing center is situated on the third floor of the comprehensive building, fully equipped with instruments. The entire plant is designed, constructed, and operated in compliance with GMP standards.
The multi-functional synthesis workshop consists of three floors, designed in line with modern international pharmaceutical plant concepts. Each room houses three or four reactors, with physical partitions to prevent cross-contamination and material mix-ups. The height difference between reactors on the third and second floors enables gravity-fed material transfer, enhancing energy efficiency and production output. Flexible hose connections allow rapid setup of production units to achieve closed and flexible manufacturing, providing hardware support for the rapid scale-up of small molecule compounds from R&D to commercialization. Each reactor is equipped with an automated temperature control system (TCU), with temperature and pressure signals integrated into the DCS. Reactors used in hazardous processes are additionally fitted with SIS systems. Centrifuges feature fully automatic knife-discharge or horizontal designs, with online oxygen monitoring, nitrogen protection, and integrated automatic cleaning systems. Drying equipment includes double-cone dryers and vacuum ovens to meet closed production requirements. Each drying unit operates in an isolated room to avoid cross-contamination and material mix-ups. All production and storage areas are equipped with automatic toxic and combustible gas detectors interlocked with exhaust fans, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant system. Additionally, the 400-square-meter 100,000-class cleanroom is equipped with 100L and 1000L reactors, centrifuges, and drying equipment to meet clinical API production needs.
The workshop is capable of conducting reactions including bromination, oxidation, azidation, diazotization, chlorination, Grignard reaction, high-pressure amination (9 MPa), high-pressure hydrogenation (10 MPa), continuous flow reaction, and high-vacuum distillation (-0.1 MPa). It is equipped with automated temperature control systems (TCU) operating from -80°C to 280°C, distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), and gas detection and alarm systems (GDS).
