Wireless Foliage and Soil Temperature and Humidity Station

The solar-powered station includes a transmitter and backup battery housed within a weather-resistant barrier. To view data, you will need to add a wireless Vantage Pro2 console, or a Weather Envoy and WeatherLink. It can receive data from:

A single fully assembled station, which includes two foliage humidity sensors, four soil moisture sensors, and four temperature probes; or two partially assembled stations—one containing two foliage humidity sensors and two temperature probes, and the other including four soil moisture sensors and four temperature probes.

Two models are available. Choose the model without sensors and select components as needed, or opt for the complete soil temperature and humidity station and add one or two foliage humidity sensors as required.

Foliage Humidity Sensor:

Monitors leaf surface moisture levels on a scale from 0 (dry) to 15 (saturated). A wireless foliage and soil moisture/temperature station can accommodate up to two sensors. Includes a 40′ (12 m) cable.

The foliage humidity sensor detects the presence of surface moisture.

This sensor is an artificial leaf resistance type. It consists of a sensing grid, a low-voltage bipolar excitation circuit, and a conductivity sensing circuit.

Stainless Steel Temperature Probe:

A versatile temperature probe with a 2.5″ (64 mm) long stainless steel sheath. Used for measuring air, soil, or water temperature. A wireless foliage and soil moisture/temperature station can support up to four probes. Includes a 15′ (4.6 m) direct-burial cable.

The multi-purpose temperature probe is used in the Vantage Pro2 wireless soil moisture/temperature station.

This sensor employs a precision platinum wire thermistor that produces a resistance change corresponding to temperature.

Encapsulated in an epoxy resin within a 316 alloy stainless steel body and vinyl cable. The 22 AWG direct-burial cable is resistant to damage, pests, moisture, and UV exposure.

Soil Moisture Sensor:

The Watermark soil moisture sensor uses resistance to measure soil moisture levels. It requires no periodic maintenance during the growing season. Simply bury it at the appropriate depth to monitor soil moisture throughout the growth period. A wireless foliage and soil moisture/temperature station can accommodate up to four sensors. Includes a 15′ (4.6 m) cable.
