Reichert Friction Tester

Primarily used for evaluating the tribological performance of various lubricants (oils, greases, water-based lubricants) and cutting fluids: measurement of lubricant film thickness and shape under point contact; study of film thickness variations with load, speed, temperature, etc.; noise testing.

Product Introduction

The Ducom Reichert tester consists of a firmly fixed test roller pressed via a lever system (100 to 500 N) against a rotating friction wheel immersed one-third in the test fluid. The drive motor and wheel rotate together at the same speed (0.25 to 2.50 m/s). Test temperature can vary from ambient to 120°C.

With traditional equipment, the tester is typically shut down when a significant reduction in noise is observed. This requires skilled and experienced operators to perform tests accurately, but observed test results often vary. This issue was addressed by Ducom through the integration of instrumentation to monitor noise levels, thereby reducing dependence on the operator.
