Introduction:

Ducom MicroForce is a novel multi-scale testing platform. The MicroForce test head can precisely control the applied load and measure friction forces ranging from 10 mN to 10 N.

With sub-micron resolution, it is ideal for micro-scale friction measurements. This testing tool can be used for various innovative tests, including mapping the independent effects of surface forces and interfacial friction deformation.

Features:

· Interchangeable springs for wide-range and high-resolution measurement of load and friction forces.

· Interchangeable linear reciprocating motion actuators, rotary motion actuators, and oscillatory motion actuators.

· Determination of adhesion forces by acquiring force-displacement curves.

· Optional temperature control system for temperatures ranging from room temperature to 80°C.

· Optional humidity control system for humidity levels from 30% RH to 75% RH.

· Friction corrosion cell with a three-electrode potentiostat, generating linear polarization curves according to ASTM G59 to determine mass loss due to corrosion.

Options:

· Interchangeable actuators: High-precision stages for linear motion and low-speed rotation.

· Lubricant cup and heating system: The lubricant cup can hold sample discs and test lubricants. The lubricant temperature is controlled by a cartridge heater and PT-100 sensor.

· Humidity control system: A standalone humidity controller can generate dry and humid air to enhance the tester's capability to evaluate material properties in humid environments.

· Friction corrosion cell: Used with a three-electrode potentiostat, it conveniently determines open circuit potential, linear polarization curves, Tafel curves, and corrosion mass loss.
