I. Product Overview
As a key component of the power system, batteries must be tested and maintained annually, quarterly, or even monthly, with regular analysis of test data.
Currently, maintenance of valve-regulated lead-acid batteries in China generally involves checking the float voltage. Practice has proven that voltage does not correlate with capacity, as it only reflects surface parameters of the battery.
Internationally, internal resistance testing has been widely adopted for daily battery maintenance, replacing the traditional voltage check method. Internal resistance is a parameter that reflects the internal state of the battery and is recognized as an accurate and rapid indicator of battery health.
The conclusion regarding internal resistance and capacity is: when a battery's internal resistance exceeds 25% of its initial (baseline) value, it will fail the capacity test. When the internal resistance exceeds twice the initial value, the battery's capacity will be below 80% of its rated capacity.
