Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer

Composition Characteristics:

This paint is a two-component heavy-duty anticorrosive primer formulated with epoxy resin as the base material in Component A, incorporating ultrafine particles and epoxy resin, and using polyamide resin as the curing agent in Component B. It features air drying at room temperature and is resistant to sedimentation.

Functionality and Uses:

With a high zinc content in the paint film, it provides cathodic protection, excellent adhesion, and outstanding water resistance and rust prevention. It also dries quickly, is oil-resistant, and is compatible with most anticorrosive and topcoat paints. A paint film thickness of around 20 microns does not affect welding performance. This primer can be used as a maintenance primer for steel plates after shot blasting or sandblasting in shipbuilding and bridge construction, as well as an anticorrosive coating for steel structures.

Flash Point: Approximately 27°C

Basic Parameters: Drying time (at 25°C and 65% relative humidity) - Surface dry: 0.5 hours, Hard dry: 24 hours, Curing: 7 days.

Coating Compatibility and Application:

1. Before application, mix Components A and B in the specified ratio, stir thoroughly, and allow to mature for half an hour before use.

Mixing ratio: Component A : Component B = 10:1, Pot life (at 25°C): 8 hours.

2. The paint can be applied by brushing, rolling, or high-pressure airless spraying.

3. Usage parameters: As a maintenance primer: 80 g/m2, dry film thickness 20 microns. As an anticorrosive paint: approximately 270 g/m2, dry film thickness 70 microns.

4. Thinner: Epoxy thinner.

5. Metal surface treatment: For optimal protection, steel surfaces must be treated by shot blasting or sandblasting to remove scale, rust, oil, and other contaminants, achieving Swedish rust removal standard Sa2.5 before painting.

6. Compatible topcoat paints: Epoxy mica iron oxide heavy-duty primer, epoxy asphalt series coatings, chlorinated rubber coatings.

7. Curing reaction slows down when the application environment is below 10°C.
